About The Position

This part-time instructor position teaches Nurse Aide courses in the Workforce Development and Community Education Division, reporting to the Director of Health Occupations and the Nurse Aide I Training Program Coordinator. Note: The location of this position is at Alleghany Center in Sparta, NC

Requirements

Registered Nurse with an unencumbered license.
Licensed to practice nursing in North Carolina.
Has at least two (2) years (4000 hours) of experience as a Registered Nurse in the United States.
Meets at least one (1) of the following:
completion of a course in teaching adults; or
experience in teaching adults; or
experience in supervising nurse aides.

Nice To Haves

Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes.
Experience in a community college setting.
Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems.

Responsibilities

Prepare course materials including lectures and labs by using appropriate teaching techniques per the NC Nurse Aide I Training Program approved curriculum.
Schedule clinical rotations for students ensuring students meet the clinical onboarding requirements.
Conducts evaluations of student performance and assigns grades on the basis of such evaluations.
Maintains records of student attendance and grades according to college policy and procedure.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required to meet course objectives.
