About The Position

The Department of Physics & Dual-Degree Engineering in the Division of STEM seeks a part-time faculty member to teach courses in Engineering. College-level teaching experience is preferred. The major in Dual-Degree Engineering offers a broad range of courses including: Mechanics, Electricity & Magnetism, Optics & Modern Physics, Engineering Design, Engineering Graphics, Engineering Statics, Mechanic of Materials, Engineering Dynamics, and Project Management in STEM. Teaching experience in any of the aforementioned courses is preferred.

Requirements

Master's degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, or a related field with appropriate graduate hours.
Teaching within an online management system preferred.
Knowledge of specific academic discipline for the instruction of the academic major.
Knowledge of pedagogical strategies and methods of student assessment
Ability to convey complex ideas and techniques.
Computer literacy and instructional technology skills required.

Responsibilities

Develop course content and other course materials in support of course and learning outcomes and adhere to departmental required texts, if any
Prepare, administer, and grade assignments and examinations in a timely manner to inform students about their progress and to provide opportunities which will allow students to succeed.
Schedule and maintain appropriate office hours proportionate to the instructional assignment and provide timely communication to students utilizing Morehouse network
