About The Position

Saint Mary's University of Minnesota is seeking adjunct instructors in our Nursing program who are eager to contribute to its Lasallian Catholic mission of awakening, nurturing, and empowering learners to ethical lives of service and leadership. This posting is for all applicants interested in adjunct nursing faculty contracts for clinical rotations, skills lab instruction, and didactic courses for the BSN Pre-Licensure Program. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis. As the need arises to hire adjunct faculty, qualified applicants will be contacted with contract offers. Review of candidates is typically done in fall and spring. Clinical Site: Variable (Rochester, Winona, Wabasha, La Crosse, Eau Claire) Didactic and Skills Lab Site: Winona Employment Type: Nursing Course Adjunct or Nursing Clinical Adjunct. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Pre-Licensure Program at Saint Mary’s University is seeking applications for Nursing Course Adjunct or Nursing Clinical Adjunct instructors. Contracts vary based on semester and enrollment needs. All Adjunct positions are part-time, temporary positions. These positions are filled on an as needed basis and are on-going recruitments. Contracts may include day, evening and weekend courses and may be in-person or blended courses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Nursing required.
  • Valid nursing license in Minnesota required.
  • Valid nursing license in Wisconsin required if clinicals are in Wisconsin.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in related content areas such as community health, mental health, acute care, maternal/child, pediatrics.
  • Experience in nursing education and/or precepting expertise.
  • Excellent written and/or oral communication skills required.
  • Excellent management/supervisory skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree in Nursing (Master’s or Doctorate-PhD, DNP or EdD) preferred.
  • Knowledge of CANVAS and ATI learning systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and evaluate a group of 4-10 nursing students during a clinical shift as a Nursing Clinical Adjunct.
  • Teach and evaluate a group of 12-50 nursing students during a didactic course as a Nursing Course Adjunct.
  • Oversee and evaluate a group of 10-18 nursing students during a nursing skills lab as a Nursing Course Adjunct.
  • Provide onboarding, training, and ongoing support to all Nursing Clinical and Course Adjunct instructors.
