About The Position

Adjunct Instructors are responsible for the facilitation of student learning and the on-going development of instructional strategies that meet the needs of students and employers and promote student success.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Nail Technician program focused on Wisconsin state licensure.
  • Minimum of at least 4,000 hours in the field within the last five years.
  • A current Wisconsin Nail Technician license is required.
  • Current knowledge of nail techniques as well as equipment and sanitation requirements.
  • Knowledge of the latest trends and current licensing requirements.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency utilizing a learning management system.
  • Adapt quickly to changing demands and circumstances to meet student needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
  • Understanding of the role of Nail Technicians as part of the salon team.
  • Engagement in continuous improvement in the quality of instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Foster student learning by developing appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and support student engagement.
  • Employ learning experiences that integrate multiple delivery methodologies and instructional technologies to maximize student success.
  • Assess student learning and provide regular feedback to help students be successful.
  • Use data to measure quality outcomes related to course success and learning, and implement improvement strategies based on the evidence.
  • Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records, and ensure opportunities for student engagement evaluation.
  • Support the college by engaging with the department and staying current with internal and external changes and initiatives.
  • Build and maintain ongoing relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners.
  • Serve as an advocate for students and collaborate with Student Services staff to retain students and help all students be successful.
  • Continually improve knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices through professional development activities.
  • Develop curriculum and instructional materials that are competency-based and aligned with the college policy.
