About The Position
The American Studies/Media & Communications Department at SUNY Old Westbury regularly seeks to hire adjunct instructors to teach courses as needed. The American Studies/Media & Communications Department offers a B.A. in Media & Communications, and many of our courses serve Old Westbury's general education curriculum. Candidates for adjunct positions should have a record of high-quality teaching. We are seeking applicants who can teach foundational courses such as Writing for Media and Multimedia Journalism, among other media offerings. Requirements
- A Master's degree in journalism, media or equivalent degree in a related field.
Nice To Haves
- Professional experience in journalism and multimedia storytelling.
- Experience teaching professional writing or writing-based media for print and multimedia production.
- Experience teaching or mentoring an ethnically diverse, working student body.
