Harper College invites applications for an adjunct instructor to teach a hands-on massage therapy course during the Spring 2026 semester. The course, MTP 125 - Foundations of Massage Therapy II, builds on foundational massage therapy skills and introduces approaches including myofascial release, trigger point therapy, cross-fiber friction, and specific-tissue massage. The course includes both lecture and lab components.

  • Deliver engaging, effective instruction in both lecture and lab settings.
  • Provide students with timely feedback based on assessments and evaluations of their work.
  • Prepare and facilitate lab activities while ensuring adherence to lab safety standards.
  • Provide the department with a course syllabus, instructional materials, attendance records, and gradebook.
  • Maintain current Illinois Massage Therapist licensure.
  • Utilize previously developed course materials, if desired, or incorporate your own in consultation with the program coordinator.
  • Support and accommodate students with special needs in accordance with College policies.
  • Current IL Massage Therapy License.
  • Completion of at least 30 college credit hours beyond massage therapy training (official transcripts required).
  • Minimum of two years of professional massage therapy practice.
  • Associate's degree or higher.
  • Board Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (BCTMB).
  • Experience with the techniques covered in this course in a clinical setting.
  • Prior teaching experience.
