About The Position

The Wofford College Department of Music invites applications to establish a pool of qualified candidates to serve as adjunct instructors. Opportunities may include applied instruction in voice or instruments, or classroom teaching in music theory, music appreciation, or other departmental courses. Our current needs include applied instructors in brass and percussion, as well as an instructor for class piano. The music program at Wofford is in an exciting phase of growth with strong support from faculty and administration for its continued development and expansion. Instructors will be contacted as openings arise.

Requirements

• A master’s degree in music (MM, MA, or equivalent) is required
• Demonstrated excellence as both a performer and teacher
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to student success
• College-level teaching experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide applied instruction in voice or instruments
• Teach classroom courses in music theory, music appreciation, or other departmental courses
• Conduct all instruction in person on the Wofford campus
• Adapt teaching assignments based on student enrollment and departmental needs
