Adjunct Instructor in Music - Commercial Music (Guitar)
About The Position
Union University seeks a qualified individual for the position of Adjunct Instructor in Music – Commercial Music (Guitar). Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master of Music degree in Guitar Performance or Guitar Pedagogy, Commercial Music, Jazz Performance, Master of Art in Worship, or equivalent, and experience teaching undergraduate-level group and private guitar is required. This position also requires the ability to work in a team leadership setting and strong collaborative skills. The ability to teach Commercial Music Theory or Musicianship/ Aural Skills courses is also required. The candidate must also have the ability to perform in a variety of music styles, including but not limited to classical music, popular and rock music styles including improvisation, jazz or blues, Contemporary Worship, country and bluegrass, and Classical. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to applicants with a Ph.D. or D.M.A. in Guitar Performance or Guitar Pedagogy, Commercial Music, Jazz Performance, Worship, or equivalent. Extensive solo or ensemble recording and performing experience, as well as teaching experience at the college level and/or the commercial industry is also preferred.
