Brandeis University's Graduate Professional Studies (GPS) is looking for an industry leader to teach in our Master of Science in Applied Biotechnology & Enterprise program. Brandeis University is consistently ranked among the nation's top universities, and our online courses are developed using best practices in online learning. The course titled 'Bioinformatics & Computational Biology' introduces students to the principles and applications of bioinformatics and computational biology, focusing on sequence analysis, structural bioinformatics, and systems biology approaches. Topics include algorithms for genomic data analysis, machine learning applications, and computational modeling of biological systems. Students will gain hands-on experience with commonly used bioinformatics tools and databases.

  • Develop and deliver course content that aligns with Brandeis teaching standards.
  • Facilitate discussions, provide timely feedback, and grade assignments.
  • Provide hands-on training with bioinformatics software and programming languages such as Python and R.
  • Integrate real-world datasets for students to analyze using computational methods.
  • Current active employment in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry.
  • Strong knowledge of the course topic, including industry applications and emerging trends.
  • Ph.D. in a relevant field with at least one peer-reviewed publication in the subject area.
  • Experience with hands-on industry applications related to the course content.
  • Previous teaching experience at the college level or experience conducting professional training.
  • Experience in online education, instructional design, or curriculum development.
  • Familiarity with computational tools and data analysis relevant to the subject matter.
