About The Position

Adjunct Instructors are responsible for the facilitation of student learning and the on-going development of instructional strategies that meets the needs of students and employers and promote student success. The position involves fostering student learning through appropriate instructional strategies, assessing student learning, managing the classroom environment, participating in team activities, engaging with the community, supporting student success, and pursuing professional development.

Requirements

• Associate degree or above in related and appropriate field.
• Minimum of four years of occupational experience in the field of the program or programs being taught.
• At least one year of occupational experience within the last five years.
• Recent late-model, broad-based HD Truck repair experience preferred.
• Teaching or training experience is desirable.
• Qualified per FVTC requirements at time of, and throughout employment as an instructor.
• Meet and maintain Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requirements.
• Proficiency utilizing learning management system.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Adapt quickly to changing demands, assignments, and circumstances.

Nice To Haves

• Air Conditioning Certification preferred.
• Experience in teaching or training.
• Proficiency in innovative methodologies and delivery methods.

Responsibilities

• Foster student learning by developing appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and support student engagement.
• Create learning experiences that integrate multiple delivery methodologies and instructional technologies to maximize student success.
• Assess student learning and provide regular feedback to help students be successful.
• Use data to measure quality outcomes related to student persistence, retention, completion rate, course success, and learning.
• Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records, and ensure opportunities for student engagement evaluation.
• Support the college by engaging with the division, department, and team members.
• Build and maintain ongoing relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners.
• Serve as an advocate for students and collaborate with Student Services staff.
• Continually improve knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices through professional development activities.
