The College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASE) occasionally has openings for part-time adjunct instructors appointed on a per semester basis. Applying for a part-time teaching appointment in English as a Second Language adds applicants to a pool which is available to the department for selection as needed for Fall 2025, Spring 2026 and/or Summer 2026. Minimum educational requirements for undergraduate level courses: Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or related field, including a minimum of 18 graduate level credit hours in the teaching discipline. Degree and coursework must be obtained from a regionally accredited institution. Minimum educational requirements for graduate level courses: Doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline, or closely related field, including a minimum of 18 graduate level credit hours in the teaching discipline. Degree and coursework must be obtained from a regionally accredited institution.

  • Teach English as a Second Language course(s) in one or more modalities: Face-to-face, web-enhanced, hybrid, or online.
  • Coordinate course administrative duties such as grading student work, loading all course content, meeting with students, and submitting grades in a timely manner.
  • Meet census and grade deadlines, and perform additional administrative duties as needed.
  • Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or related field for undergraduate courses.
  • Doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or closely related field for graduate courses.
  • Minimum of 18 graduate level credit hours in the teaching discipline.
  • $2,400 per undergraduate section taught with a master’s degree.
  • $2,900 per undergraduate section taught with a Ph.D.
  • $3,100 per graduate section taught with a master’s degree.
  • $3,600 per graduate section taught with a Ph.D.
