About The Position

Provide in-person instruction for Electrical courses at a local correctional facility and/or high schools. This position involves teaching practical and theoretical aspects of electronics to students in these unique learning environments.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Electrical Systems Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Biomedical Equipment Technology, Construction Management, Industrial Systems Technology, Mechatronics Engineering Technology, or related degree; OR NC Electricians License

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of full-time or equivalent work experience in construction or the electrical trade.
  • Experience teaching at a community college, particularly with at-risk populations, diverse student backgrounds, and/or those who are incarcerated.
  • NCCER Certifications
  • OSHA Authorized Trainer
  • Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.

Responsibilities

  • During engaging lectures and hands-on skill labs, the instructor will provide the training necessary for the students to meet pre-defined learning objectives.
  • In addition maintain accurate student roster, attendance sheet and other required records.
