About The Position

The Department of Physics at Duquesne University is seeking applications for an adjunct instructor position to teach in person a section of algebra-based general physics for undergraduate students with majors predominantly in the health and life sciences. Openings available for fall 2025 and beyond.

Requirements

• Degree in a STEM discipline.
• Experience teaching general physics at college or AP high-school level.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiasm for working with students with no previous exposure to physics.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with applications of physics to health is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Teach one section of the course per semester in person.
• Develop and deliver engaging lectures.
• Assess student performance through assignments and exams.
• Maintain regular office hours and provide academic support to students.
• Collaborate with department faculty to ensure curriculum alignment.
