About the position

The position involves teaching the following Criminal Justice Administration subjects in our program: Introduction and foundational level content, Investigation, Criminal Evidence, Corrections, Private Security, Law Enforcement, Ethics, as well as other subject areas. Additionally, the role will draw upon real-life engagement, interaction or experience and/or familiarity with criminal justice workplace environments and practices. The position is part of the School of Business, Legal, and Social Services.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and submit accurate academic records, including grades, attendance, and certifications.
  • Enhance instructional effectiveness through ongoing self-evaluation and by integrating current developments in teaching and learning strategies.
  • Develop and update course curriculum, including using appropriate technology.
  • Deliver course instruction in alignment with the master course outline and class schedule.
  • Actively participate in Criminal Justice faculty meetings.
  • Create and implement plans to effectively deliver the program curriculum.
  • Assist the college in ensuring technology, facilities, and equipment remain up-to-date.
  • Engage in professional development, including both college-sponsored activities and independent efforts, to remain current in the field of study.
  • Advise students as to appropriate courses for completion of the program of study.
  • Collaborate with counselors, advisors, and other college staff to address student needs.
  • Stay informed about industry, market, and competitive trends to support program relevancy.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements

  • A Master Degree or Juris Doctor from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of five years of Criminal Justice experience in Pennsylvania.

Nice-to-haves

  • Teaching experience at a secondary or college level.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems.
  • Hy-flex synchronous teaching experience in the classroom and Remote meetings technology.
  • Asynchronous Course Development and Instruction.
