Adjunct Positions are filled by semester on an as needed basis. Applicants in this applicant pool are reviewed when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy. The Building Construction Technologies Adjunct must be able to effectively communicate and demonstrate knowledge of specific technical skills within both the lab and classroom environment to a diverse student population. The successful candidate will be responsible for the instruction of Building Technologies course(s) in Interior Construction and/or Exterior Construction and/or Structural Framing. The successful candidate may also be required to teach classes in construction materials and methods, construction technologies, mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems, building information modeling, sustainable construction, energy management, and/or building commissioning. The successful candidate will be able to adjust instructional techniques as required by individual student learning styles while maintaining a safe and positive learning environment for students and fellow faculty members. Proven commitment to construction safety and quality construction standards is necessary. Teaching assignments may include daytime and/or evening hours. Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community. Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and two years relevant experience in residential/light commercial construction field; OR Associate's Degree in a related field and four years relevant experience in residential/light commercial construction field; OR High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of eight years relevant experience residential/light commercial construction field.
• Michigan Residential Builders License.
• Unofficial copies of transcripts from each institution of higher learning where either a degree has been conferred or coursework completed are required documents that must be submitted as part of the online application process.
• Credential evaluation for foreign education credentials must be submitted with the application materials.

Nice To Haves

• Professional accreditation/certification as a LEEDAP, PE, CPC, CxA, or other related credential.

Responsibilities

• Instruct Building Technologies course(s) in Interior Construction and/or Exterior Construction and/or Structural Framing.
