About The Position

The Adjunct Instructor for the American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor position in the Continuing Education Division is responsible for assisting with teaching in the Continuing Education EMS program. This role involves leading or assisting in AHA courses, which may include Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Heartsaver Courses. The instructor will be expected to manage classroom setups, ensure proper use of equipment, and maintain current knowledge of AHA standards. Classes may take place on campus or in community settings, and the instructor will also handle college paperwork and schedules.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of one current (unexpired) AHA Instructor certification: BCLS Instructor, ACLS Instructor, or PALS Instructor.
• Experience teaching high school age or adult learners.

Nice To Haves

• Level 1 or 2 NC EMS Instructor certification.
• Experience as an instructor through EMS, AHA, or ARC.
• Associates Degree or higher.
