About The Position

Adjunct Instructors are responsible for the facilitation of student learning and the on-going development of instructional strategies that promote student success. The position involves fostering student learning by developing appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and support student engagement. Instructors will employ learning experiences that integrate multiple delivery methodologies and instructional technologies to maximize student success, such as hybrid, in-person, virtual, and online course delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related and appropriate field required.
  • Minimum of two years of occupational experience in a target job for the program or programs being taught.
  • At least one year of occupational experience must be within five years prior to date of hire.
  • One year of recent related occupational experience may be waived if the instructor has at least two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within five years prior to date of hire.
  • Must meet and maintain Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requirements, Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS), and/or other job specific licensing standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Three to five years of occupational experience preferred.
  • Prior teaching or training experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Foster student learning by developing appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and support student engagement.
  • Employ learning experiences that integrate multiple delivery methodologies and instructional technologies to maximize student success.
  • Assess student learning and provide regular feedback to help students be successful.
  • Use data to measure quality outcomes related to course success and learning, and implement improvement strategies based on the evidence.
  • Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records, and ensure opportunities for student engagement evaluation.
  • Support the college by engaging with the department and staying current with internal and external changes and initiatives.
  • Build and maintain ongoing relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners.
  • Serve as an advocate for students and collaborate with Student Services staff to retain students and help all students be successful.
  • Continually improve knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices through professional development activities.
