This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed on a semester-by-semester basis to teach lecture and laboratory classes for students for the Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science degree. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. Potential courses include Introduction to Exercise Science, Introduction to Fitness and Wellness, and First Aid and Emergency Management. The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2025 at the earliest and January of 2026 at the latest. However, these are estimated dates and can be revised if needed.

  • Provide instruction in classrooms, laboratories, or online for students in the bachelor's degree of Exercise Science program as assigned in the College of Health Professions.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives.
  • Keep regular posted office hours scheduled at times convenient for students.
  • Participate in traditional functions which have academic significance (i.e. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time).
  • Teach off-campus or in an online environment as required.
  • Master's degree in Exercise Science or closely related field (e.g. Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Athletic Training, or Human Performance).
  • Minimum of two years of work experience in their field of study and/or in higher education.
  • Demonstrated commitment, experience, and understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
