About The Position

The Adjunct Faculty member in the School of Social Work is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in undergraduate and/or graduate-level social work courses. Courses may be offered in-person, online, or hybrid formats. The role requires subject-matter expertise, commitment to student learning, and adherence to University policies and accreditation standards.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program is required.
  • At least two (2) years of post-MSW practice experience.
  • Active Social Work licensure (LCSW or equivalent) is strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or DSW) in Social Work or related field is preferred.
  • Prior university-level teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in assigned social work courses, following the approved curriculum and maintaining high standards of academic integrity and rigor.
  • Develop syllabi, create assignments, prepare course materials, assess student learning, and maintain accurate grading and attendance records.
  • Engage with and support students through guidance, mentorship, academic advising as appropriate, and timely feedback to promote academic and professional growth.
  • Be available to students during designated office hours and maintain regular communication with students, colleagues, and the School of Social Work.
  • Attend required meetings and trainings as assigned.
  • Remain current in the discipline of social work, including developments in practice, policy, and education, and integrate new knowledge into course delivery.
