The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Teach one or more training courses in HVAC or Industrial apprenticeship trades. Courses are delivered using the assigned method: in person, remote, hybrid, online, or blending one or more. Provide academic support and encourage students to complete On-The-Job Training. Appropriately evaluate and maintain records of student progress, including attendance; The specific duties and responsibilities associated with this position include, but are not limited to the following: Cover course content as described in the approved course outline/syllabus, and provide sufficient exposure to the material so that students will satisfactorily proceed to the next course in sequence and/or courses in the program; Follow and enforce safety practices and rules; Provide feedback for students regarding their performance; Meet each assigned class with punctuality and enthusiasm; Implement class activities that will promote maximum learning; Design and ensure that the required minimum laboratory exercises are conducted each semester; Submit reports as requested including class rosters, grade reports, grade books, final examinations; Remain current on developments in trade operations and processes required by industry; Carry out college policies in all aspects that relate to the position; Conduct self as a representative of the college staff when participating in school related functions; Prepare instructional material from the Apprenticeship curriculum that is to be covered in class; Strive to motivate students and facilitate learning by creating a positive environment.
