Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
• A minimum of 12 months teaching experience preferred
• Flexibility in work hours
• Computer proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office and the internet
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds
• Ability to pay close attention to detail as well as the possession of good judgment and a strong work ethic
• Strong communication skills
• All instructors must meet the appropriate credentialing requirements for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)

Responsibilities

• Teaching reading, English, social studies, science, math and computer skills to individuals who are functioning below the 12th grade level to prepare for the official GED® Exam
• Creating and developing curriculum, lesson plans and teaching materials
• Integrating computer-aided instruction into lessons as appropriate
• Monitoring and assessing students’ progress on a regular basis
• Maintaining a safe and effective classroom environment
• Participating in department, division, and general adjunct faculty meetings
• Participating in professional development as appropriate to the position
• Completing other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Benefits

• Pay range starts at: $21.10/hour
• All salary calculations start at the minimum and will be based on the candidate's education and experience
