About The Position

Utah Valley University is seeking an Adjunct for Autism - Infants and Children to teach undergraduate teacher education courses. The role involves maintaining professional standards, improving educational practices, and supporting students in their academic endeavors. The position may require in-person teaching on the UVU campus.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited institution with a master's degree in a field closely related to the field of instruction
• Current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA or BCBA-D)
• Knowledge of BACB ethical compliance code, requirements, and task lists
• Awareness and understanding of National Autism Standards and research
• Experience with course development pertaining to Autism Spectrum Disorders
• Current research, instructional theory, methods, strategies, assessments, innovations and techniques in pre-service teacher education including clinical programming and teacher performance assessment
• Cultural competencies to work effectively with diverse students and colleagues
• Ability to supervise experience hours practicum for students pursuing BCBA certification

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate teacher education courses
• Conference with students regarding coursework, fieldwork, and academic endeavors
• Improve professionally and maintain currency in the courses taught
• Follow professional ethical standards
• Plan, prepare, and follow an approved course of study with measurable objectives and student outcomes for each course taught
• Evaluate student learning using appropriate assessment methods and School of Education program evaluation system
• Prepare all instructional materials in electronic and paper formats
• Maintain and submit accurate and current records concerning student accountability, attendance, and performance
• Develop positive relationships with colleagues and public school educators and administrators
• Support collegiality
• Perform other duties as assigned
