About The Position

Part-time adjunct faculty position in the Department of Health Administration. Adjunct faculty are employed on a semester-by-semester basis, as needed, and are non-tenure-earning. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to: Candidates will serve as part-time faculty, bringing expertise in their field and incorporating relevant real-life examples into the curriculum. Temporary appointment extended to an expert in a specific field to give instruction in connection with an established program. The appointments are: for one (1) academic term at a time and possess no continuing contractual relationship with the University. May teach undergrad courses with Master's degree in specified discipline. Can be used for temporary (OPS) faculty titles only. The Department of Health Administration offers the following programs: Bachelor of Health Management (BHM) Master of Health Administration (MHA) Executive Master of Health Administration (EMHA) Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI) Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) Our comprehensive programs are designed to empower the next generation of healthcare leaders through a blend of rigorous academic and real-world experiences. The Department’s mission is to improve health care by creating and translating knowledge into policy and practice and educating healthcare leaders, managers, policymakers, and practitioners. Our health administration education excellence is affirmed by CAHME accreditation and AUPHA certification.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in health administration or closely related field from an accredited institution
  • Proficiency in computer software usage and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive)

Nice To Haves

  • An earned doctorate in Health Administration or closely related field
  • Experience in a Learning Experience (LMS) platform, particularly the Canvas LMS
  • Previous experience teaching at a higher education institution

Responsibilities

  • Developing course syllabi
  • Creating, administering, and grading assessments
  • Answering questions and providing additional support for students
  • Using Canvas to deliver course content
  • Hold office hours with frequency and modality as negotiated with the acting program director and department chair.
  • Teach assigned course(s) in accordance with the approved syllabus and course schedule.
