About The Position

The Department of Natural Resources and the Environment (NREN) in the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture (COLSA) at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach coursework as assigned by the Department Chair. Adjunct instructors are utilized on a semester-to-semester basis, and position availability depends on departmental need.

Requirements

  • M.S. Degree and demonstrated expertise in appropriate discipline as it relates to coursework being taught.
  • Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level or demonstrated potential for effective teaching.

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in appropriate discipline as it relates to coursework being taught.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Familiarity with instructional technologies and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas).

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses as assigned by the Department Chair
  • Develop and deliver course lectures and instructional materials consistent with the approved course description and learning objectives for undergraduate and graduate students
  • Design and administer appropriate assessments for students
  • Submit grades in accordance with University Deadlines and Policies
  • Hold regular office hours and provide academic support to enrolled students
  • Manage and coordinate with Teaching Assistant(s), if assigned
  • Coordinate, as needed, with the NREN Department Chair and NREN program faculty to ensure curricular alignment
  • Adhere to all University policies and procedures
