About The Position

Adjunct Faculty positions supplement the faculty of the School of Communication wherever additional faculty are needed. Adjunct faculty hold, as defined by their letter of appointment without eligibility for tenure; where authorized by the Dean, adjunct appointments may be renewed. Adjunct appointments do not guarantee course assignments. Specific responsibilities of adjunct faculty are given in their letter of appointment. The specific starting and expiration dates for appointments are noted in their letter of appointment. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduates in the area of the candidate’s specialization. Adjunct faculty shall be evaluated in every course, including summer session.

Requirements

  • All faculty must have at least a Master’s degree in the field/discipline in which they are teaching with 18 hours of course work related to the course(s) being taught.
  • In some cases, subject to the approval by the Provost, a faculty member could be recommended for appointment based on substitution of significant experience for the degree.
  • Applicant must be able to teach face-to-face classes on the Radford University Campus and be available for meetings.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to individuals who have teaching experience (particularly with D2L and zoom learning experience), demonstrate collegiality and a commitment to achievement of student learning outcomes and high-quality teaching.
