Adjunct faculty are assigned to teach generalist and specialist content throughout College of Nursing programs (pre-licensure, RN-BS, MSN , DNP , PhD) on a semester-by-semester basis. Requirements

  • All adjunct faculty must hold a Master’s degree or higher
  • Depending on the assigned teaching role and program, hold an active license to practice nursing (e.g., RN, APRN ) in the State of Utah.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating teaching and learning activities.
  • Communicating student issues and/or concerns with directors and other member of College of Nursing leadership.
  • Attending course-related faculty meetings.
  • Providing input into course objectives, including updates, revisions and/or deletions.
  • When applicable, maintaining optimal relationships with assigned clinical agencies.
  • Following course syllabi and determining student learning objectives.
  • Counseling students and maintains accurate records.
  • Serving as a role model for students.
  • Evaluating student performance.
