About The Position

Matanuska-Susitna College is recruiting qualified applicants for its pool of part-time adjunct faculty. Duties will include instructing students in the course subject matter and developing the course syllabus, teaching materials, and tests/assessments as needed. Classes may be taught in person, online, or via web meeting. Mat-Su College is a community campus of the University of Alaska Anchorage located in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, the fastest growing region of Alaska. Applicants should reside in the State of Alaska and be available to work within Alaska during the length of the assignment as most courses will be taught face-to-face on the campus of Mat-Su College. No relocation expenses will be paid for adjunct instruction. To t hrive in this role, adjunct faculty members must be student-focused, with a strong desire to see students succeed in their academic goals. Timely submission of requested information, such as grades, is expected. Subject areas include but are not limited to: Alaska Native Studies Art Biology Economics Mathematics Music Appreciation Political Science Sociology Statistics Veterinary Science Adjunct positions are hired on a semester-by-semester contract basis. Successful acceptance into the adjunct pool does not guarantee an offer of a contract. Please note in your cover letter the subject(s) you are interested in applying for.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have expertise and experience relevant to teaching the specific course content.
  • Applicants should reside in the State of Alaska and be available to work within Alaska during the length of the assignment as most courses will be taught face-to-face on the campus of Mat-Su College.
  • Successful applicants must provide official transcripts documenting academic credentials required for the position as a condition of employment.
  • To be eligible for this position, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Applicants who now or may in the future require visa sponsorship to work in the United States are not eligible.
