About The Position

Teaching Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders: This course focuses on students with autism and examines the variety of exceptionalities and special needs of these children. Each criterion listed in the DSM-5 will be examined in addition to neurobiological, psychological, educational, social, and emotional factors. Students will be exposed to a range of specialized and individualized instructional strategies and supports for students with Autism, including the development of social and emotional skills and strategies for successful inclusion.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Master's Degree in Special Education
  • A minimum of 5 years teaching and working with students with Autism. Teaching in the higher education (online) environment preferred.
  • Ability to adhere to University policies and procedures.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • General knowledge of the University's mission, purpose, and goals and the role this position plays in achieving those goals.
