About The Position

The instructor is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities during the day, evening, or weekend via instructional delivery formats to include face-to-face, hybrid, online, and remote. Face-to-face and hybrid classes may be offered on any Prince George’s Community College campus, or at off-campus locations. The instructor must remain current in the discipline area and continually explore teaching methods and strategies to engage learners, organize and plan instructional content that accommodates diverse learning styles, and devise appropriate assessment tools that monitor student learning outcomes. The instructor is also responsible for participating in related activities to include professional development, academic advising, curriculum design.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED , or equivalent required
  • Eight (8) years of sterile processing experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Sterile Processing Technician experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of instrument processing experience required
  • Sterile Processing Technician certificate ( CRCST or CSPDT credential) obtained from either National Certification Board CBSPD or IAHCSMM
  • Conduct on-campus sessions, including laboratory sessions.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with OSHA and Standard Precautions
  • Evidence of pertinent work experience in a variety of healthcare settings.
  • Ability to develop course curriculum, instructional materials and lesson plans.
  • Ability to develop a variety of learning assessment related to didactic and clinical instruction.
  • Supervision in clinical settings

  • Associates degree in applied science preferred
