About The Position

Teach in-person Spanish courses in the Global Languages department under the Division of the Humanities and Learning Communities. Levels of focus, SPN-101 (Beginner), SPN-201 (Intermediate). Courses are offered fully in-person on campus (Charlestown and Chelsea campuses). Applicants who do not meet the qualifications as noted above are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience has prepared them with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience required for the responsibilities of this position. Please note that as a condition of employment, the final candidate will undergo Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) background screenings in accordance with state regulations. The results of these screenings may impact the hiring decision.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Spanish or related field.
  • Evidence of engagement in culturally responsive pedagogies.
  • Experience with high impact teaching and learning practices (examples: undergraduate research, community engagement, critical pedagogies, learning communities).
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.
  • Ability to teach courses on campus in an in-person setting at BHCC's Charlestown or Chelsea campuses.

Nice To Haves

  • Community college teaching experience preferred.
