About the position

The College of Health and Human Services at Shawnee State University seeks qualified individuals for all semesters to serve as part-time faculty (adjunct) in the School of Nursing for the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) programs. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis, and interested candidates must apply online. The application must include a cover letter addressed to Kimberley Dinsey-Read, Director of Nursing, a resume or curriculum vitae, and an unofficial transcript indicating the highest degree attained. Candidates invited for an on-campus interview may be required to present a teaching lecture and laboratory demonstration of their instructional abilities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in the respective or related area
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing if Clinical/Lab Nursing adjunct
  • Professional license/certificate in the respective area when applicable
  • Possess excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills
  • Ability to use technology in teaching
  • Ability to use collaborative learning techniques and student centered methods of instruction
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multicultural environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend assignments - daytime availability a plus (in some cases, may be required)
