About The Position

Founded in 1870 by a woman, Bathsheba A. Benedict, Benedict College is a private co-educational liberal arts institution with over 1,700 students enrolled in its 26 baccalaureate degree programs and 2 master's degree programs. Defying trends, Benedict College maintains a nearly equal male and female student population. JOB SUMMARY Teach courses in one or more of the following disciplines as assigned by the dean or chair: business administration, accounting, and/or finance at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Meet with students to provide supplemental instructional support and advising through office hours; engage in professional development, community service, and/or outreach programs; and work collaboratively with colleagues. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Teach 6 or fewer sch per semester. Convene in-person or virtual office hours to assist students. Contribute to the curriculum development, assessment of student learning outcomes, and co-curricular enhancements in the discipline. Engage in scholarship of teaching and learning through professional development. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK: Earned master’s degree in discipline (with at least 18 sch in the teaching discipline). Commitment to excellence in college teaching and to working in a multicultural environment that fosters diversity. Ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning. Ability to demonstrate collegiality and a sound work ethic. Professional work experience in the discipline.

  • Record of (or demonstrated potential for) successful college teaching.
  • Familiarity with development and implementation of courses using Open Educational Resources and virtual platforms.
  • Demonstrated interest in facilitating student learning and engagement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional responsibilities, student development, and service.
