About The Position

Whatcom Community College invites applications for part-time, adjunct faculty Psychology Instructor to teach in-person in our Psychology department starting Fall quarter 2025 and to expand the pool of instructors for future positions that may occur. Requirements

  • A master's degree in psychology from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Teaching experience in a post-secondary institution.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to teach in at least one of the following areas of interest: cognitive psychology, biopsychology, social psychology, or multicultural psychology - evidenced by graduate-level course credit with related additional research or teaching experience.
  • PhD in psychology from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Ability to effectively teach General Psychology.

Responsibilities

  • Meet accessibility standards and utilize universal design for learning.
  • Proficiently use Canvas learning management system.
  • Develop curriculum and assess learning outcomes.
  • Provide student-centered equity-based instruction.
  • Availability to teach in in-person, online, hybrid, and flex models.
  • Align professional practices with the mission of WCC.

Benefits

  • Accrues a percentage of 7 hours (equal to the percentage of workload) per month of sick leave.
