About The Position

The Adjunct Faculty for Phlebotomy at Lone Star College is responsible for teaching and facilitating learning in phlebotomy courses. This part-time position requires planning, developing, and delivering course content while ensuring that students achieve the course objectives. The role includes supervising clinical laboratory experiences and maintaining professional relationships with students and colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Nursing licensure, or Medical Assistant licensure, or Phlebotomy certification.
• Mastery of course content.
• Demonstrated leadership skills emphasizing collaboration, teamwork, and facilitation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints and work effectively with a wide variety of people.

Responsibilities

• Teaches Phlebotomy courses at various times and locations.
• Participates in clinical rotation assignments by supervising clinical laboratory learning experiences.
• Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
• Maintains knowledge of current accreditation and certification procedures.
• Interfaces with affiliated hospitals or free-standing laboratories to promote student experience and education.
• Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
• Utilizes a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
• Meets with and advises students either before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods.
• Evaluates students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and informs students in a timely manner of their progress.
• Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
• Attends meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
• Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned.
