About The Position

The Adjunct Faculty - Paralegal Studies position is a part-time role within the Academic Affairs department at Bristol Community College. Requirements

  • Minimum of a Juris Doctorate from a United States law school or a Master's degree with a paralegal certificate.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in a legal field.
  • Demonstrated prior work experience supervising paralegals or working as a paralegal.
  • Proven technological proficiency.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Admission to a state bar.
  • Demonstrated experience with college level teaching or as a facilitator.
  • Prior online teaching experience using a Learning Management System.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and design Paralegal Studies course material to meet learning outcomes.
  • Assess student learning and assign grades using equitable and inclusive pedagogies.
  • Contribute to a climate of multicultural empowerment and understanding.
  • Create an effective learning environment that fosters intellectual curiosity.
  • Employ various assessments to ensure classroom instruction leads to student learning.
  • Help students reach their academic, personal, and professional goals.
  • Contribute to and provide leadership in the student's academic communities.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Complete required trainings such as Title IX and FERPA.
  • Adhere to workload specifications in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Be available to students for assistance in meeting course requirements.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and reflect Bristol's core values.
  • Focus on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda in job functions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
