About The Position

Ivy Tech Evansville is searching for high-quality adjunct faculty in the Office Administration and Technology program. Ideal candidates will have real-world experience in business and an applicable master’s degree. Students in the Ivy in Office Administration and Technology program will not only learn about business but will be put directly in real-life scenarios and actual business situations to gain valuable job skills through a quality education. Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School. Program Operation: Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes. Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements. Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook. Submits requested information within established timelines. Students: Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance. Address student concerns promptly and, if necessary, consult with the program coordinator to resolve issues. Instruction: Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s). Use technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, and other tools as appropriate. In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair. Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Promote same as an integral part of one's work.

Requirements

  • A qualified faculty member in Office Administration and Technology meets the program standard through one of four routes:
  • Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree in a business or computer-related discipline, as appropriate to the program; or
  • Possesses a related or out-of-field master’s degree with documented 18 post-secondary semester hours or equivalent of courses in business or computer-related discipline as appropriate to the program; or
  • Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master’s degree, with documentation in two or more of the following: Professional certification (national, regional or state) Two years of in-field professional employment Documented evidence of teaching excellence Documentation of research and publication in the field Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor, or military; or
  • Possesses an earned bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in a business or computer-related discipline appropriate to the program, with documentation in two or more of the following: Professional certification (national, regional or state), or Two years of in-field professional employment, or Documented evidence of teaching excellence, or Documentation of research and publication in field, or Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor or military

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing instruction at a post-secondary institute.
  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification, particularly in Excel
