About The Position

An on-site adjunct instructor who is currently practicing (clinical practice or education) as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is required for the Occupational Therapy Assistant program beginning in August 2026. Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty members will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the school.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an ACOTE-accredited occupational therapy assistant program.
  • Must hold a license in good standing to practice as an occupational therapy assistant in the State of Indiana.
  • Must have earned an associate’s degree or higher from a USDE-recognized institution.
  • Knowledge of curriculum design and the content delivery method.
  • A minimum of one year of directly related work experience.
  • Must be currently practicing (clinical practice or education).

Nice To Haves

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree or higher from a USDE-recognized institution.
  • A minimum of two years of directly related work experience (clinical practice and/or education).

Responsibilities

  • Must be involved in curriculum design, strategic planning, teaching, and student advising.
  • Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
  • Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.
  • Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
  • Submits requested information within established timelines.
  • Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.
  • Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program chair and/or course supervisor to resolve issues.
  • Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).
  • Use technology such as Canvas (IvyLearn), PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
  • In event of emergency absence, notify program chair and course supervisor.
  • Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views.
  • Promote same as an integral part of one's work.
