About The Position
Adjunct faculty positions supplement the faculty of a department whenever additional faculty are needed. Adjunct faculty hold appointments as defined by their letter of appointment, without eligibility for tenure; where authorized by the Dean, adjuunct appointments may be renewed. Adjunct appointment does not guarantee course assignments Physical Demands Adjunct faculty in the clinical and classroom area may be required to walk for prolonged periods, stand for prolonged periods, and do medium work – 50 lbs. lifting, frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Clinical teaching in health care related agencies includes potential exposure to patients who have contagious disease processes; subject to hazards-environmental conditions, and exposure to potential pathogens.
Requirements
- All faculty must have at least a Master’s degree in the field/discipline in which they are teaching with 18 hours of course work related to the course(s) being taught.
Nice To Haves
- Recent clinical experience in an acute care or community health care setting.
