About The Position

NHTI Concords Community College Position Type: Part-time, adjunct Semester: Spring 2025 Compensation: $47.95-$59.45 per clinical contact hour, based on adjunct faculty rank (determined by education and experience) Position Overview: NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach the clinical component of NHTIs nursing courses, which provide students with essential knowledge in a pathway leading to a career as a registered nurse (RN), to provide direct patient care in a variety of healthcare settings. Course Details: Course Name : NURS 116C: Nursing IIA, NURS 117C: Nursing IIB, and NURS 215C: Nursing III Credits : variable for clinical instructors Lecture Hours : n/a Lab/Practicum Hours : variable Location : NHTI Campus, Concord, NH, and clinical sites in the area Course Description: Nursing IIA and Nursing IIB expands on the concepts of nursing knowledge and caring to support growth and development over the life cycle. All nursing courses integrate theory and clinical experience. The emphasis of the course is on universal, developmental, and/or health deviation self-care requirements. The student focuses on the educative/supportive and partially compensatory nursing systems and employs effective therapeutic communication to care for patients with selected self-care deficits throughout the life cycle. Professional, ethical, and legal standards of nursing practice are utilized to provide holistic and culturally-sensitive nursing care throughout the life cycle. Planned learning experiences provide the student with the opportunity to coordinate environmental and technological resources in the delivery of patient care. Opportunities for analysis of principles and concepts of nursing knowledge are provided through Clinical Resource Center experiences and patient care assignments in various settings. To facilitate the teaching/learning process, ongoing evaluations occur through interactions between student and faculty. Nursing III incorporates principles and concepts from nursing knowledge and liberal arts education. The emphasis of the course is on the patient with commonly occurring illnesses. The student focuses on the wholly compensatory nursing system and evaluates effective therapeutic and collegial communication to enhance health outcomes. Planned learning experiences provide the student with the opportunity to utilize microsystem resources, evidence-based practice, quality improvement processes, and safety standards in the delivery of patient care. The student demonstrates accountability for the professional, ethical, and legal standards of nursing practice to provide holistic and culturally-sensitive nursing care throughout the life cycle. Opportunities to utilize critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and humanistic values are provided through Clinical Resource Center experiences and patient care assignments in various settings. To facilitate the teaching/learning process, ongoing evaluations occur through interactions between student and faculty.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate in nursing with successful matriculation in a graduate or doctoral program having met generalist requirements for a BSN or MS degree, three years of teaching preferred, and clinical experience in the area of anticipated teaching assignment; or Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in Nursing, three years of teaching experience preferred.
• Must reside in NH, VT, ME, MA, RI, or CT.

Responsibilities

• Teach the assigned course using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.
• Facilitate class discussions, assignments, and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.
• Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies, accreditations, and standards.
