About The Position

Berkshire Community College (BCC) is actively building its adjunct pool for the Mathematics Department within the Science & Business Division. As student enrollment continues to grow?thanks in part to new initiatives like MassReconnect and MassEducate, offering "Free Community College"?we are preparing to meet demand by expanding our roster of qualified and dedicated instructors. We are currently seeking adjunct faculty who are available to teach in person on our Pittsfield campus, either during the day or in the evening. Adjunct faculty in the Science & Business Division deliver high-quality classroom instruction to students enrolled in certificate and associate degree programs. The ideal candidate will bring both content expertise and a passion for teaching in a student-centered, inclusive learning environment, reflective of the community college mission. Adjunct faculty members are typically assigned one or more sections per semester and are responsible for instructional preparation, content delivery, student engagement, and assessment. BCC supports adjuncts with mentorship from experienced faculty and access to professional development resources. Please note: This is a pool position, and appointment to teach is not guaranteed. Assignments will depend on course availability, enrollment needs, and a successful interview.

Requirements

Master's degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related field.
Availability to teach in person at BCC's main campus (day and/or evening).
Teaching experience (Community college experience preferred).
Familiarity with active learning methods, and use of technology in the classroom.
Experience with online and hybrid teaching environments.
