The Adjunct Faculty Pool - Math (College Level) Instructors at Cleveland State Community College are responsible for providing quality instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment for students. The role emphasizes teaching and evaluating students across various formats, including in-person and online classes. Instructors are also tasked with administrative duties such as reporting academic activity and submitting final grades.

  • Planning and teaching classes as assigned and outlined in course descriptions and syllabi.
  • Beginning and ending all classes as scheduled and covering all relevant learning outcomes for each course.
  • Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure a conducive learning environment, communicating with students weekly, and responding to student emails in a timely manner.
  • Evaluating students using various methods and informing each student of their scores in a timely manner.
  • Using Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and responding to student questions promptly.
  • Meeting deadlines for administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, and final grades.
  • Submitting requests for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids through the appropriate channels.
  • Master's Degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Math Education, or a closely related major from an accredited institution.
  • Alternatively, a Master's Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics, Statistics, Math Education, or a closely related major.
  • Three years of teaching experience is preferred.
  • Experience with alternative delivery instructional modes (hybrid, on-ground, and online) is recommended.
  • Experience with online teaching platforms and tools.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development and assessment methods.
  • Competitive pay rates based on educational qualifications, with rates per credit hour for each educational level: Master's degree $550, Master's plus 30 semester hours (ABD) $575, Doctorate $600.
