About The Position

This is a part-time (adjunct) faculty position in the Massage Therapy department at the Metropolitan Campus. Candidates will be interviewed and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. The role involves teaching a full range of lecture and lab credit courses in massage therapy theory, practice, and clinical settings. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering learning activities, developing course materials, evaluating student work, maintaining attendance records, and being available for student coaching. The work schedule will be determined based on business unit needs, with classes potentially offered during the day, evening, and/or weekend.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a practicing licensed massage therapist with therapeutic and relaxation massage experience.
  • Licensed by the State Medical Board of Ohio and eligible to teach massage theory and practice in Ohio.
  • Ability and willingness to receive student massages to evaluate their technique, methods, and professional conduct.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent).
  • Advanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skills.
  • Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of the community.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches a full range of lecture and lab credit courses of massage therapy theory, practice and clinical.
  • Assists in the development of continuing education for students.
  • Accompanies students to off-site activities or clinical.
  • Prepares and delivers learning activities in order to achieve course outcomes.
  • Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts.
  • Evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations.
  • Maintains and submits student attendance records, grades and other required documentation by specified deadlines.
  • Be available to students for coaching.
  • Participates in periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties and training and development.

Benefits

  • Part-time faculty position with a set rate of pay: $942.00/Equated Semester Unit (ESU).
