About The Position

Waubonsee Community College is seeking qualified candidates for an Adjunct Instructor (part-time) in our Machine Tool Technology program, Section MTT 120. The subject areas and courses include Manual Machining, CNC Programming and Operation & CNC Mill Operation. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for providing instruction and formatively and summatively assessing student learning. This position requires a professional with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to effectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Business, Technology, and Workforce Education, Adjunct Faculty prepare course syllabi and design lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to engage students with diverse learning styles and empowers students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities for them to meet all course objectives and outcomes. They also incorporate learning centered principles and concepts to motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of their educational experiences. Adjunct faculty members are responsible for student evaluation as well as timely and accurate reporting including, but not limited to, attendance verification, academic progress, and final course grades.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology or related field, or Associate degree in the field of industrial technology and industry certification(s) and 4000 hours of work-related experience in the field.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in Manual Machining, CNC Programming and Operation & CNC Mill Operation.
