About The Position

The Department of Business and Economics is looking for adjunct faculty to teach Management Information Systems courses. Build and teach courses such as Quantitative Methods for Business and Economics, Problem Solving for Business using Excel, Project Management, Database Management for Business (using SQL), Information Systems Projects and other Management Information Systems courses. Face-to-face classes taught twice or three times a week This search will establish a "pool" of instructors if such openings occur during Spring, Summer, or Fall of 2026. Applicants may be selected from this pool on an as-needed basis throughout the year. The successful candidate will possess both a high level of intercultural competence and commitment to inclusive teaching in the classroom. Candidates are encouraged to highlight skills and experiences that demonstrate these abilities. Responsibilities include appropriate classroom teaching, constructing assignments, grading, office hours, regular email and . including possible orientation the week before classes begin. Course syllabus, textbook and shared office space are provided. Each course requires approximately 12-15 hours a week. The collective bargaining agreement with SEIU, Local 284, covers adjunct teaching at Augsburg.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in Management Information Systems or related field
  • Understanding of current developments and experience in the field of MIS
  • Ability to engage a diverse student body
