William Paterson University invites applications for Adjunct Faculty within the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences in the Department of Language, Literature, Culture and Writing's World Language Program. Please note that there may not be a vacancy at this time. Rather, qualified applicants may be contacted if and when there is an immediate need, or on an exploratory basis for a future opening. Courses in this department generally taught by adjunct professors include, but are not limited to: Basic and/or Intermediate Spanish, Basic and/or Intermediate French, Basic and/or Intermediate Arabic, Basic and/or Intermediate Italian, Basic Chinese, and Basic Korean. The Department of Language, Literature, Culture, and Writing is committed to preparing students to respond to the growing demand for employees who can function in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual global and international environment. A BA degree from William Paterson gives students that competency, while a Med degree and the various associated certifications prepare graduates to become teachers in a high demand profession in the State of New Jersey. The department also fosters intellectual curiosity, creative problem solving, and a dedication to lifelong learning.

  • Using the course outline as a guide, develop relevant syllabi in order to deploy course content, objectives, and methods of student assessment for up to six (6) credits per semester in assigned undergraduate or MEd course(s).
  • Contribute to student success by providing consistent and effective support and guidance through role modeling and mentoring.
  • Earned Master's degree in Spanish, French, Arabic, Italian, basic Chinese, or basic Korean.
  • One or more years teaching in higher education.
