About The Position

SUNY Westchester Community College seeks Adjunct Faculty to teach Elementary Japanese 1. The position requires 4-5 contact hours dependent on class. Adjunct Faculty may teach up to three classes each semester at the main campus and satellite locations in Westchester County.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Master's degree in Japanese or related field in Japanese Studies.
• A minimum of one year of experience.
• Familiarity with course management systems.
• Experience with online, remote, and in-person classes.
• Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of a Master's degree in Second Language Acquisition in Japanese or related field in Japanese Studies.
• Experience in instructional technology.
• One year of classroom teaching in any level of Japanese.
