About The Position

This Position Exists : Augment the Regular Faculty by effectively teaching students the designated program objectives. In addition to fulfilling this purpose, the Adjunct Faculty member continuously strives to bring about the mission of Ensign College, which is to enlighten minds, elevate hope, and ennoble souls to strengthen individuals, families, communities, and the Lord’s Church. The curriculum for these courses is already developed, with solid teaching plans, assignments, and grading rubrics. Requirements

  • Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
  • Worthiness to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend
  • Receive clearance from the Church Educational System Ecclesiastical Clearance Office
  • Commitment to the mission of Ensign College
  • Resides in Utah with the ability to teach in person at our Salt Lake City campus

Responsibilities

  • Effectively teaches the assigned program objectives.
  • Uses the “College Learning Model” to teach relevant skills that have immediate practical application.
  • Initiates, facilitates, and moderates classroom discussions.
  • Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
  • Compiles, administers, evaluates, and grades student examinations, class work, assignments, and papers.
  • Maintains student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
  • Mentors students as they determine career goals and seek academic advice.
  • Responds to student inquiries in a timely manner.
