About The Position

The University of Pittsburgh School of Law (Pitt Law) seeks to hire part-time Adjunct Faculty to serve as course instructors in the online Master of Studies in Law (MSL) degree program beginning in academic year 2026-2027. Instructors are sought for the following courses: American Legal System Contracts Torts Property Constitutional Law Criminal Law Legislation and Regulation

Requirements

  • Licensed attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience practicing or teaching law.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the subject matter of the course for which they are engaged.
  • Experience using Canvas or a similar learning management system and skill at online interaction.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Zoom.
  • Applicants for a course instructor position MUST submit a CV and a cover letter.
  • Please identify in your cover letter the specific course or courses you seek to instruct and document your suitability to teach each course for which you are applying.

Responsibilities

  • Course instructors support and guide student progress
  • Provide detailed and substantive feedback on student submissions
  • Grade assignments, tests, and exams
  • Instructors use existing online materials, tools, and procedures.
