About The Position

Under general supervision of and in accordance with Clovis Community College and departmentally established practices and expectations, adjunct instructors work collaboratively with other faculty within the College and their discipline to ensure that key concepts of the specific discipline are addressed. Part time instructor/coordinator in Industrial Technology program with teaching and OJT coordination duties under the supervision of the Division Chair of Occupational Technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline and applicable certifications in career field is preferred.
  • At least 3 years work experience as a trainer in industry or related enterprise is preferred.
  • Additional direct, applicable experience and current licenses and credentials related to program requirements are desirable and will be considered.
  • Must have current expertise in one or more curricular areas included in the program (electronics, drawing schematics, mechanical/electrical operations, and environmental health and safety).
  • Ability to organize work, design curriculum and learning experiences, communicate effectively, access performance and maintain productive relationships with plant supervisory personnel is essential.
  • Duties are performed in the context of a community college; understanding of the community college mission and philosophy will be critical to success.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and teach courses in Industrial Technology emphasizing Electrical Maintenance.
  • Teach 6-9 credit hours each Fall and Spring semester in the evening.
  • Teaching assignment may include courses provided for high school students under the provisions of the dual credit policy of the state of New Mexico.
  • Consult with students on an as needed basis.
  • In collaboration with other members of the division, determine course content and curricula.
  • Demonstrate or actively work to attain proficiency with such technologies as may be useful in instruction, including personal computers, presentation software, computer-generated tutorials, and learning management systems.
  • Provide student advisement for returning students as necessary.
  • Supervise students in on the job training situations.
