About The Position

The University of Arkansas – Pulaski Technical College (UA-PTC) in North Little Rock, Arkansas, is accepting applications for an HVAC 9 Month Adjunct Faculty position. The faculty member will be responsible to teach one or more HVAC courses, including the HVAC courses covering Residential HVAC and Systems Design. UA-PTC provides access to high-quality education that promotes student learning and enables individuals to develop to their fullest potential. Position Summary: The HVAC Instructor should have a minimum of five years’ technical experience in the residential and/or commercial HVAC field and should be familiar with the subjects covered in class to include standard air -cooled split systems, chillers, water cooled condensers, cooling towers, ancillary equipment, VRF equipment, and basic control devices. Knowledge of system sizing is a plus. Knowledge of duct design and sizing as it relates to airflow a plus. The ability to guide students in failure modality and troubleshooting techniques is required. General Responsibilities: • Instruct students in a classroom setting, by providing lecture and hands-on examples to increase the student’s knowledge about HVAC. • Provide lab exercises that will strengthen the student’s abilities to troubleshoot equipment and systems. • Provide a curriculum and supporting instruction that leads to student achievement in the HVAC Program. • Input and update student grades quickly utilizing Blackboard Ultra

Requirements

  • Three to Five years’ experience in the residential HVAC field in a technical capacity
  • EPA 608 type “universal” certified for refrigerant handling
  • Familiar with A.C.C.A. Manual “J” system sizing, and “D” Duct sizing. Either software or the actual Manual “S” and “T” forms.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

  • Must have proficient computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Class “A”, “B”, or lifetime Arkansas Mechanical license in force
  • N.A.T.E. certification
